Lyani Powers

Guest Teacher

Hi, I’m Lyani Powers, a clinical herbalist, doula, and lactation consultant dedicated to bridging ancestral healing practices with modern wellness. My journey into herbalism is deeply personal and culturally rooted, shaped by learning from indigenous parteras and curanderas in Mexico and Ecuador, as well as the rich traditions of Caribbean herbalism. With studies in Ayurvedic postpartum care, I integrate diverse healing modalities into my work.

My focus is on education, accessibility, and collaborative care—ensuring that holistic wellness is available to all. I am especially passionate about supporting women through postpartum healing, empowering them with nutrition, herbal support, and traditional care practices. As the founder of Modern Herbal Apothecary, I prioritize sustainable, ethically sourced herbs to foster wellness within my community. I believe in creating a bridge between natural remedies and conventional healthcare, advocating for a more integrative approach to healing.

My work is about reconnecting people with their ancestral knowledge and innate ability to heal. I look forward to the opportunity to share my experience and insights, helping others rediscover the power of holistic, culturally rooted care.

This workshop provides practical knowledge on herbal support for women through all stages—from menarche to menopause—covering reproductive health, hormonal balance, and care for each phase. My goal is to empower participants with tools that can be passed down to future generations, bringing this herbal knowledge back to our communities to promote ease and empowerment.
